District 60 is proud to celebrate Black History Month, as we recognize the contributions, accomplishments, and history of African Americans in our nation.
As part of Black History Month, our schools will celebrate and study African-American history, culture, and leaders through various activities, lessons, and events. Keep an eye on school websites and social media accounts for updates on events and programs taking place throughout the month.
Additionally, all families are invited to our Districtwide celebration, when we host our African Americans and the Arts modern gala later this month. The free event will be held on February 22 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Genesee Theatre, 203 N. Genesee St. You can register to take part in the event here.
