Cooke Magnet School is now accepting applications for parents wishing to enroll their children  in the school for the fall. The online application can be accessed here. The deadline to complete the application is Sunday, April 2.  

Cooke currently has openings for students entering kindergarten, with limited openings for students entering grades 1-5. Attendance is open to any kindergarten through 5th grade child living within Waukegan Public Schools’ boundaries. Cooke is a fine arts-focused elementary school, with a curriculum rich in art, music and science. 

Following the application process, students will be required to take a placement test. Families will receive information about testing dates and times in mid April. Testing will take approximately 60 minutes and will be offered during the day and after school hours.

For new students: if any other language other than English is spoken at home, parents are asked to please contact the Welcome Center at 224-303-3630 to set up an appointment for a required language test.
