Our District is teaming up with the Family Resource Center on Disabilities to host a virtual presentation this week to help our Diverse Learner families in their secondary transition planning.

Workshops will be held separately in both English and Spanish via Zoom on Thursday, February 2, both led by veteran special education parents. The English meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m., and the Spanish session will follow at 7:30 p.m. Links to both meetings can be found below:

As part of the presentations families will learn more about the variety of options available to their child as they plan to transition outside of the school system. While transition planning begins at age 14.5 in Illinois, DL parents with children of all ages are welcome to participate.

Additionally, parents will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Options Fair, which will include secondary transition resources, on April 20. That event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mundelein High School. More information on the event will be made available closer to the date.
